Where did Asian Cycling Projects started? Difficult to say. With my first time I hired a classic Chinese bicycle and cycled through the maginificent karst scenery of the Li river near Guilin back in the 1980-ties? Or when I embarked with a group of Dutch cyclists on a venturous bike ride from Lhasa to Kathmandu in the late 1990-ties? Or perhaps when I was asked in the late 90-ties to organize a mountainbike race over the Great Wall of China with 100 bikers that had been dismissed as “impossible”in advance? Yet, we did! All these events were roots from where I developed Asian Cycling Projects and continued organizing cycling trips and events for groups and individuals in Asia. And that`s what I`m still doing today!
